If you haven’t already, create a fanpage on one of the social networks

Check which portal is the most popular in your country and open an account there

Social media doesn’t cost anything and you will be more recognisable

Encourage other athletes to create accounts on social networking sites

If your team/club doesn’t have a fanpage on a social networking site, persuade your management to create one

If you have many accounts, create one public one, which will save your time; use the experience of famous athletes and have only one fanpage

Make at least a few posts a week

The more active you are, the more people will know what you do and the more you will become recognised

Do not express negative opinions about another team, players, coach, activists, referee or even a sports object

If there are negative comments saturated with hate, ignore them, don’t write back and don’t wonder if they are right. You can block
people and comments full of hate

Remember that people who don’t know anything about football, who have never achieved anything in their lives, are the most likely to criticise

Avoid people who hate

Be prepared for the fact that sometimes you might get a negative comment just for being a woman

Try to upload videos of a few seconds or so of you; short videos are much more likely to be viewed than posts

Use your team’s social media, share their posts and videos with you

Support other athletes – Like and give positive comments

Support other teams positively. Remember that they also care about the development of women’s football

Don’t worry if your photos differ significantly from those on social media. The people who support you don’t pay attention to this; it is the “unadjusted” photos that attract more attention – your supporters want you to be natural – sweat, facial grimaces and fatigue are a natural effect of sport

Let yourself be inspired by the women’s football stars who regularly post on social media. See how many followers they have Just because you’re not yet a big, world -famous footballer doesn’t mean you won’t be – you’re certainly already popular with your friends for your passion for football and it’s worth spreading the message to as many people as possible
